The design team at YGGGR recognized this shift and sought to create a space that breaks away from the traditional mold of men’s hair salons.
A Splash of Color: Redefining Men’s Spaces
Upon entering THERE.C Salon, the first striking feature is its bold use of color. The vibrant pink flooring serves as a focal point, signaling that this space is unlike conventional men’s grooming establishments. It represents a departure from the norm, reflecting the changing times where men’s grooming is no longer confined to traditional stereotypes. This dominant color is elegantly complemented by sleek black accents, which define the overall aesthetic and serve as a unifying element throughout the space.
Maximizing Limited Space: Efficient Design
With a compact area of approximately 54m², maximizing the use of space was a key consideration in the salon’s design. The layout was meticulously planned to streamline the customer journey, ensuring that every inch serves a purpose. The strategic placement of the counter and corridor facilitates seamless movement into the beauty area, with lockers and refreshments conveniently located along the way. This thoughtful arrangement ensures that all necessary functions are seamlessly integrated into a single, efficient flow.
Openness and Expansion: Spatial Dynamics
The design of THERE.C Salon prioritizes openness and expansion, even within the constraints of a small footprint. The mirrors in the main hall are designed with open upper and lower sections, allowing the floor and ceiling to remain unobstructed. By eliminating frames around the mirrors, the reflected images are not confined, creating a sense of openness and continuity. This intentional design choice enhances the spatial experience, making the salon feel more expansive than its physical dimensions suggest.
